Description

The unit is controlled via 2 push buttons that are used for all operations and for the setting up of the unit. The 6 digit LCD displays operating status, lap times and any recalled stored lap times. A lap time is obtained by triggering the unit from the external IR transmitter, the LT100TX. The Lap-Timer displays and stores the difference in time between consecutive triggers (each lap). The default setting for Blanking time is 15 seconds and for the Sensitivity is 6

Operation

1) Lap timing

The unit is switched on by pressing and holding ON button until '------' appears on the display (no previously stored lap times available), or Lap No 'xxx' followed by the recalled lap time 'xx.xx.xx' appears on the display (the last recorded time).

The unit is now primed and is ready to receive the first trigger from the beacon.

If the unit is in the primed state and is not triggered within 30 minutes the unit will switch off retaining any recorded laps and the user settings.

When the unit is first triggered by passing the timing beacon the display

resets to display '00.00.00' and the timing of the lap is started.

The next time the unit passes the timing beacon the lap number is displayed:

'LAP 01' if the lap storage was clear.

or 'LAP xxx' the next lap from the last lap stored.

This display is held for 1s followed by that lap time, displayed as 'xx.xx.xx'. The lap time and number are stored in memory.

At each consecutive passing of the timing beacon the lap number is incremented and the relevant time stored. When 100 laps have been stored the unit resets the lap counter to lap001 and starts overwriting previously stored laps.

Timing is stopped by pressing ON (Recall) button ( 'LAPS' is displayed.)

2) Recalling stored lap times

After the unit is switched on or to stop lap timing press ON button until: 'LAPS' appears on the display. If no stored laps are available 'Error' is displayed and the display reverts back to '------'.

Press ON button: display shows 'LAP 001' followed by the lap time 'xx.xx.xx'

Further presses of ON button increments the lap number and displays the

associated lap time. The sequence will continue until all the stored laps have been displayed. If lap 100 is displayed, further presses of ON button cycles the lap number back to 001 and the laps are again displayed.

Holding the ON button pressed sequences the display through the lap numbers. When lap 100 is displayed the sequence continues with lap 001. When the button is released the appropriate stored lap time will be recalled and displayed.

Press OFF (Resume) button to stop recalling the stored laps and to prime the unit ready to receive the next trigger. The last recorded lap time will be displayed.

3) Clear laps stored

Holding ON and OFF buttons down for 2s will clear all the stored laps and '------' is displayed. The unit is now ready for the 1st trigger (Unit primed).

4) Set Blanking and Sensitivity

After the unit is switched on and before the unit is primed, press the OFF button and release when 'bLAn' appears on the display. This is followed by the blanking time, displayed as 'b xxx'

Press ON button to increment the blanking number (Maximum value 240).

Press OFF button to decrement the blanking number (Minimum value 1).

If no button is pressed for 2s the selected blanking value is stored and the display shows 'SEnS' for 1s. The sensitivity number is then displayed as 'SEnS x'.

Press ON button to increment the sensitivity number (Maximum value 9).

Press OFF button to decrement the sensitivity number (Minimum value 1).

If no button is pressed for 2s the selected sensitivity value is stored and unit

reverts back to the primed state.

5) Master Reset the unit

Hold ON and OFF buttons down for 6s until 'rESEt' is displayed. The lap times are cleared, and Blanking and Sensitivity are reset to the default values.(B=15, S=6)

6) Flashing Display

The display is flashing to 'bAtt lo, indicates that the battery voltage is low and the battery should be changed.

7) Switching unit off at any time.

Press and hold OFF button until 'OFF' is displayed for 1s The unit is then switched off

If the unit is not operated within any 1 hour period, it will switch off and all recorded laps are retained in the memory store.
