EngineGM Power Plant provides economical racing
The Engine is built by Mosler, and is a standard Corvette unit from the ZO6 road car, which has been fitted with the Grand Am specification cam, and balanced and blue printed. Standard FIA restrictors will hurt this engine a lot, by at least 100 bhp, so we are working with the BRDC in England to set a restrictor size that will bring the engine without any further allowed modifications, in line with current GTO (NGT) power figures. This means that the engine will last a long time, as it is relatively unstressed compared to a restricted unit without high compressions and expensive components, and cheap. $17000 buys an engine with dry sump system and ready to go, complete.

Type Naturally aspirated OHV 90-degree V8
Make General Motors Corvette LS6
Displacement 5.7L (346 ci)
Intake System Corvette electronic sequential fuel injection
Ignition Distributorless, eight-coil

Output 478 hp 460 ft lb Torque (Without restrictors). Using 2 x 50mm Restrictors brings power to approx 450 bhp, in line with Porsche GT3, TVR Tuscan R British GTO cars.

Redline 7000 rpm

Transmission
Porsche 6 speed manual

This can be upgraded to the Hewland NLT sequential unit. A $6000 credit for the Porsche box would be allowed and the Hewland will cost around £13000, plus $4000 for an adaptor plate. A Porsche GT3 RS box can also be used.

Ignition The standard package uses the GM system, but this can be upgraded for Motec, cost around extra £8000, with Motec data logging, dash, sensors and wiring looms.
